Hi,

Good to see you here!  The 'mount' & 'unmount' SD card selections are located under 'Settings -> SD & Phone Storage'.  From there, you just connect your phone to a computer using the MINI USB cable and copy your music to your phone like a USB drive.  And like a USB drive, remember to disconnect the phone via computer before physically unplugging it.

Hey there, I'm in the "mount" section but when the USB cord is plugged into my phone Total and Available space show "unavailable" and "mount SD card" is not highlighted. What am I doing wrong?

Do you have an SD memory card installed in your phone?  I only ask because I've found that this only happens when there is no SD card installed or the SD card is not being recognized.  I am speaking from experience after I neglected to unmount an SD card prior to swapping it out and it screwed up the card, hence my phone wouldn't recognize the card again.  Other cards work fine as long as I remember to unmount prior to swapping them.

Could you please tell me where to put the music in the SD drive? I see no music folder. Should I create one?

Yeah I have the same problem... I know how to get to the files and everything, only I don't know WHERE to put my music. I made a folder and marked it "Music" and put all of my music there, but when I went to my MyTouch it didn't show it anywhere. Please help?

Once you have placed your music in a folder labeled 'Music', most music apps should automatically recognize the music files upon SD auto-remounting.  Have you opened the 'Media Room' app and checked ' titles' or ' artists'?

In the folder labeled 'download' make a new folder called 'music' (I think any name you want to use will work). Place your music in this folder. Remember you have to disconnect your phone from the computer before this will show up on your phone.

Note: the methods above may work, I didn't try them because I have no need to now. I think the trick is remembering to disconnect your phone from the computer before you go looking for your music.

I'm a new member, I just figured out a way to put music files.
1. Connect to your computer
2. Make a folder inside MEDIA (Where you can see another folder that says NOTIFICATION)
3. Drag your Music files in the new folder you created (name it whatever you want).
4. Go to SETTINGS> UNMOUNT your SD then MOUNT it AGAIN. (If This doesn't work plug and unplug the USB cable.)
5. It should work by now.

note: MEDIA folder is in your mytouch4g, You have to open Mycomputer>Removable drive then look for MEDIA folder

*I love this phone. Good bye IPHONE!

I am sorry to revive an old thread with my first post but I am having troubles putting music on my Mytouch 4G from my pc.

When my phone is not connected to my pc it will allow me to mount/unmount the SD card with no problems. When I connect my phone to my pc via the usb cable it has me select an option for connectivity: Charge only, Disk Drive, and USB Tethering.

If I choose Charge Only or USB Tethering, the phone will still allow me to mount/unmount the SD card freely. However, the computer will not recognize my phone as a storage device and I am unable to gain access to the SD card.

If I choose Disk Drive, I am unable to select mount/unmount and it says my total space and available space are unavailabe.

I want to put music on my SD card because there is supposed to be 8 GB on it and my phone only has 1 GB available.
